Many games have secret features in them, which provide a lot of power, but are only accessible through obscure series of actions. Most of the time, this consists of typing secret "words" during play, which give the player extra abilities.

Normal cheat:

There seems to be something strange with the IDDT cheat (the "map-mode"). It works on the Nightmare level, whereas the others don't.
But the real interesting thing is :
Hold [Alt] while typing IDDT 3 times, on the map screen in deathmatch mode enables you to see all monsters and your human enemies!
This may not work on all versions (surely not on version 1.9 and above) but we tought it was too important not to mention.

Anyway, first use PKLITE -X DN1.EXE to uncompress
the exe so that the patch can go at it.

That is... the regular secrets...
Recently, I found a new ultra-secret level, called "Faces of Death", which is totally wacky and features the faces of the programmers. I don't know if there are other (more simple) ways of getting there, but at least this one works. It how I myself got there.
1. Run in deathmatch, no monsters
2. Play and exit levels 1, 2 and 3
3. Enter level 4
4. In this level, take the secret exit (see zipped list)
5. Play and exit secret level "launch base"
6. Play and exit last level "the abyss"
(There's an exit behind the ammo boxes near the end of the level where you jump in the hole)
- Repeat steps 3 thru 6 twice, you will then enter the most secret of all Duke levels.
If I'm not mistaking, this is absolute premiere of A Forest Soft.
I wonder how long it takes before everybody rips this text. :(

and type LOLIFE, this will make your ship indestructable. Once
this cheat is active you can gain between 1 and 7 Combat Power-Up
Pods by pressing [Alt]+[P] followed by the number you require (1 to 7).

zyxwvu Type in this code after rejecting the Local Fundraising deal obtained by typing "call cousin Vinnie". You will be rewarded with the SimCity Castle, which will appear in the Rewards window. The castle will boost land value and increase aura. Plus, it sure beats the mayor's house (provided your ego can fit into it).

* Garth Dunn says:
If you can hit an enemy with a weapon when they are not active (in other words you haven't yet got their attention, and they are just standing or patrolling), the weapons do more damage (it is best to use "instant-hit" weapons, such as the railgun or shotguns, maybe others if silenced). You can take out Gunners, Iron Maidens and Icaruses with one hit from a railgun this way, as opposed to two.
Tip 1:
You can fall greater distances without taking damage. Just press and hold down the space bar until after you land.
It won't help if you fall too far though (this trick helped me beat the game on hard mode without taking any damage, and I didn't cheat!).
Tip 2:
You may be having trouble with those annoying Parasites. They keep on running up to you and shooting their life stealing probes into you and can be a problem.
But they can't shoot upwards! So just shoot at them from a higher point or if there is no higher platform available, just jump on top of them. They can't hit you but you can hit them! They also seem to have trouble walking out from underneath.
This also works on those flying mini-bosses, just keep moving around on top or they get you with their chainguns.
Tip 3:
Some enemies have two forms of attack: a close range attack where they try to hit you and a long range where they shoot you. Sometimes to avoid getting shot all you need to do is run up to them triggering their close range attack, such as the Flyer trying to slice you with its wings. Now run back before you get hit and hit them with everything you've got while they're wasting their time. This is more useful when you are out of the more powerful types of ammo.
Tip 4:
Ever notice how some enemies run and activate the alarm when you disturb them?
Just get between them and the alarm and they will try to run towards it, but will get nowhere. Now just shoot them until they die.
They won't try to attack unless the alarm is activated.
Tip 5:
If you destroy the bodies the Medic can't resurrect them!
And how to get to the secret levels?
Lost Station: When you enter the comm centre, go through the corridor near the start and annihilate the enemies in the room. Now jump into the water and swim down into the lower level. Around here you should be able to find short tunnel to an area where you can surface and find the entrance to the lost station.
Sudden Death: A small level with a time limit. To reach it, go to the first level of the factory. Go outside (disable the lasers first unless you want to be ripped apart), and make a running jump into the source of the
waterfall.
Comm Satellite: In the first hanger level, go outside and look around for a platform with a circle in it filled with water. Don't go in yet. First go into the main pool of water and destroy the cable thing powering the
propellor. Now you can go through the tunnel without being sucked to your death. At the other end, find the door and go into the ring-shaped room. Go around until you find a door into the centre. stand on the platform to go to the sattelite.
* Generic trick:
Just like in Doom 1 and 2, in Quake 2, if an enemy is active and you save the game and reload the game, the enemy suffers a case of amnesia and forgets that there was a certain marine he should be trying to kill. He will just stand around or patrol, until you grab his attention again. If you
saved in full view of the bad-guy, he will quickly remember and will continue on his quest to end your life. But if you were out of sight when
you saved, he will completely forget you were there.

When you have 6 stars and buy another star, you get $100.
Exit shop.
Enter again, buy a star. Keep it up!
* Allow more saved games:
Hold [Shift] and click on the load/save game icons to open a normal save dialog window, allowing more than three saved game files to be used during the game.
* Bypass password:
On the word "Welcome" at Willmores workstation, right click on the letter "O" to bypass the password entry.
Choose the Save/Restore icon and type [Alt]+002
using the numeric keypad and press [Enter].
Then type one of the following words followed by
[Enter].
HLTH - Restores all characters to full health
? - Where you are
JMP - Teleport to any room
Don't type anything else, otherwise you'll be
thrown out of the game !
Also, you might want to try out our nice patch !
During flight, enter [W][I][N].
This should give you unlimited shields and ammunition.
Another thing to try :
To play a mission you haven't gotten to yet, copy the file for the advance mission onto a file of a completed mission.
This works for any X-Wing mission, if you can figure out its file name.
(Note: Make sure to copy the completed mission or you'll lose it forever.)

You can buy all sorts of stuff (with [B] but your "emeralds" won't decrease).
That means that once you have collected 30 emeralds you can buy anything you want as many times as you want!
