How
about Flash4?
I'm sure you
have heard of Flash4. It's the new format for online presentations,
animations, ...
What makes it so special is:
1) The
program is inexpensive (when you compare to others).
2) The
program is easy to use.
3) It is streaming media. This means it
loads itself while it's playing.
4) The possibilities are
incredible
5) Flash4 makes use of the most modern compression
technologies. This way the swf files will be very small.
Flash4 is mostly used by game sites,
entertainment sites and sites who have a Flash4
presentation.
But Flash4 isn't used at big sites like Yahoo!
or AltaVista. Why not? To view Flash4 you need a plug-in. 90% of all
surfers has a Flash4 plug-in and the Flash4 plug-in is delivered
with the newest browsers. Still there are 10% of the surfers who
can't view the Flash4.
Also Flash4 is a great tool in
the fight against "right-click-and-save-picture-as" war. Because if
you click on a Flash4 animation with your right mouse button, there
won't be any "save this as" or something like
that.
An swf file you cannot modify. It's a bit
like a GIF or a JPG. Plus if you want a Flash4 animation to go to an
url when a user clicks on it you will have to do that in the program
and not in your browser.
You even can integrate CGI in
your Flash4 file. This way you can also make guest books, chats,...
with Flash4.
Flash4 has already become the standard for
online presentations. Only few sites use it really as a navigation
utility.
This was a small
introduction to Flash4. I hope you run to your local software store
to order Flash4 and start playing around with this cool program.
Working on Flash4 is a piece of cake and after two weeks of
exploring you will be able to make cool animations.
